A large part of the majestic white City Palace, towering over the Pichola Lake, is preserved as a museum showcasing Royal artifacts, beautiful paintings, antique furniture and weapons. The entry to the palace is through the Hati Pol, the Elephant Gate. The Mor Chawk is famous for the vivid blue glass mosaic of peacocks that decorates its walls.
